Good poem to show how people can hurt one another. I think the emotions behind the denigrating words are what hurts the heart - when you know someone is saying something out of hate, or is trying to guilt another person to control him. I find that the older I get and the better I know myself I am fairly impervious to this kind of thing, but it is deadly, as we have seen from bullies, to a teen or younger child.
How very true.James 3:4-14 speaks of the power of the tongue;only God can tame it. I'm sure Eucharist serves that purpose well.
