Where Is RAnn???

Has anyone heard from RAnn, who used to host Sunday Snippets?   She hasn't posted on her blog in almost a month.
I sent a comment to her latest post the other day, but it still
hasn't been published.
If anyone has any information, please answer in the comments.
Thanks!

A Virtual Club

I recently discovered this book  on openlibrary.org.

These are excerpts from the Introduction:
"Imagine that you could share coffee with a collection of history's greatest women...
This book convenes such a club."
"Each club meeting centers around a particular topic of interest,
as members engage in dialogue across time and space.  You are invited to listen in."
"[I]magine that you, too, are a participant in the dialogue."
"[P]ull up a chair, make yourself comfortable; and, welcome to the club!"

Well, anyone familiar with this blog knows how I feel about clubs!  Also, I like the compiler's originality in not calling this book something like "Quotes (or Quotations) From Great Women."

I knew that this was a book I wanted to own, but before I ordered it, there is one thing I made sure of. Margaret Sanger, whom some people unfortunately consider to have been a great woman, is NOT a "member" of the Great Women's Coffee Club.

So how do I use this book in such a way that it is, for me at least, a virtual club, and not just another collection of quotations?
1
"Meetings" are held on the third Tuesday of each month,
at 11:00 AM, with coffee, of course.
2
I sit on the opposite end of the couch from where I normally sit.
3
I imagine myself responding to at least some of the quotes in the book.

So far, I'm enjoying this "club" very much.

So Judgmental, And So Wrong

Remember this scene from 7th Heaven?  Honestly, how judgmental can people get???? Did it occur to anyone that
Lucy might have been babysitting?  Did they consider that she might actually have been telling the truth?
I loved it when she told that woman off!

Yes, I realize it was just a tv show, but things like this also happen in real life.  My niece was well into her teens when her
baby sister, and, a year later, her baby brother, were born.

And I, myself, had a similar experience years ago, when I was fourteen.  I was buying a book of baby names (I've always been fascinated by names and their meanings) when a woman asked me, "Is that for your mother, or an older sister?"
"It's for myself," I answered.
She then asked my age, and I told her that I was fourteen.
"Why," she gasped, "you little slut!"
I glared at her and said, "I am NOT PREGNANT, and YOU have a FILTHY MIND!"
"If you're not pregnant," she demanded, "why did you buy yourself a book of baby names?"
"I don't owe you an explanation. You owe me an apology!"
Yes, I could have told her why I bought the book, but at the time I didn't think it was any of her business.  I still don't think so!

Addiction and Avoidance

One of my online friends recently began playing Candy Crush Saga... and now, like so many others, she is addicted to the game.
As for me, I've scrupulously, carefully avoided the game, which I, too, love, during Lent.  I've also made sure not to read any books with the word "Chocolate" or any other sweets/treats in the title.
Those Cadbury Creme Egg commercials are more than enough!

Winky Knew

It was around noon on Easter Sunday when all of a sudden Winky began meowing in a way he had never meowed before.
I knew right away that something was wrong, but Winky did not seem to be having any physical distress.
"Winky, what is it?" I asked.  "What's wrong?"
He looked at me and meowed again.
Two hours later, Kathryn and Paul came to tell me that Mom had passed away... at around noon.

Interference By An Animal

Awhile ago, a package I was expecting was delayed due to, and I quote, interference by an animal.  No details were given.
Well, I know all about interference by an animal.  Quite often, when I'm on the computer, Winky will just take over. He'll try to grab the mouse, or he'll walk in front of the computer screen, completely blocking my view.
Or I'll be reading a book... and all of a sudden I'm "reading" a cat!

Encouraging news about EWTN's Fr. Anthony

Fr. Anthony hopes to be back on the air in the near future.  Oh, HOW I'm praying for that to happen! https://franciscanmissionaries.c...
