Hello! Where on the calendar does it say Turkey Day?
It's Thanksgiving Day. Or rather, it is the official American celebration of Thanksgiving Day.
Because, after all, every day should be a day for giving thanks.
I am a Jewish convert to Catholicism, blogging on a variety of subjects. The motto for this blog is: "Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition.
Fr. Anthony hopes to be back on the air in the near future. Oh, HOW I'm praying for that to happen! https://franciscanmissionaries.c...

If I've ever heard Thanksgiving Day referred to as turkey day, I surely can't remember it.
But I appreciate that eucharistia means "thanksgiving."
I always hated the calling of Thanksgiving Day "Turkey Day". Why do we want to expunge the gratefulness to God of the early Pilgrims from our minds? Is it because we want to expunge God from our minds?
I have relatives who give thanks for the good things in life, like happiness and stuff or a good day, but there is no reference to God. I just don't understand.
