I'd like to think that he was well-meaning, but mistaken. He wanted to
alleviate pain (which is part of being a good doctor), but went about it
in a sadly, no, a tragically wrong way.
I am a Jewish convert to Catholicism, blogging on a variety of subjects. The motto for this blog is: "Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition.
Fr. Anthony hopes to be back on the air in the near future. Oh, HOW I'm praying for that to happen! https://franciscanmissionaries.c...

Kervorkian was a pathologist with an unhealthy attraction to death. To me he is like a sexual predator, only he stalked the depressed and sick and took advantage of their hopelessness. He didn't bring Christ to them, he brought death. I don't think he was well meaning at all. I think he was satisfying a sick urge. It occurred to me that he didn't make himself commit suicide even though he was hopelessly ill. Hmmm...
Barb, there was a time, long before my conversion, when I was in favor of "mercy killing" under certain circumstances, and I was certainly well-meaning. (However, I have NEVER been in favor of abortion.)
As for Dr. Kevorkian not committing suicide, perhaps facing his own impending death taught him, finally, belatedly, how valuable life really is.
