Shamrocks..... and Cats

This post originally appeared, in a slightly different form,in one of my old blogs.
Shamrocks.... and Cats
Today, St. Patrick's Day, I'm wearing a green top, and a green hair ribbon. I had Irish oatmeal for breakfast supper. In Lenora Mattingly Weber's Katie Rose Belford series, the mother stirs up a loaf of Irish soda bread every morning. Maybe I'll try making it someday!
Today is also the Feast of St. Gertrude of Nivelles, patron saint of cats and cat lovers. Too bad I don't have a blouse or top with shamrocks and cats on it!

What is Irish oatmeal? I've never heard of it. For St. Patrick's day I work a blue/green muumuu. Don't want to get pinched!

Barb,
Irish oatmeal is oatmeal made from oats grown in Ireland.
Truthfully, I wasn't too impressed with it. Maybe I used too much water.

Encouraging news about EWTN's Fr. Anthony

Fr. Anthony hopes to be back on the air in the near future.  Oh, HOW I'm praying for that to happen! https://franciscanmissionaries.c...
