Additions to my Decorative Magnet Collection

In the past two days, I've made some additions and changes to my Decorative Magnet Collection. I traded a Red Daisy Magnet to Mom for a Baby Winnie the Pooh magnet she had on her refrigerator. (Mom doesn't collect magnets; she uses them as magnets.)
I also received this set of magnets

which I ordered earlier this week.
I already have my eye on at least two magnets I want to order next month.

She Broke My Heart

I loved my first grade teacher, until she broke my heart.
Fast forward to the fifth grade, when I still had not been
diagnosed properly.
Because I was so slow on the staircase, it had been decided that I wouldn't participate in fire drills; I would sit in the office instead.
Looking back, I can see that this was a bad arrangement. Some adult should have assisted me during fire drills. Assisted kindly, and patiently.
One day the fire drill bell rang, and while everyone else went outside, I went to the office, as usual.
Suddenly, a woman who worked in the office came in and said, as if she thought I was just a troublesome brat,
"We don't have time for your nonsense right now."
And she dragged me out of the office and down the stairs.
The speed, the being dragged down the steps, was very upsetting, and I started to cry.
And then I was outside, and still crying.
And then my first grade teacher, who was standing there with her class, scolded me.
"Shame on you, Rochelle! You're acting like a baby! These little first graders are behaving better than you!"
You don't DO that to a child who is frightened, upset, and crying, especially one who had practically idolized you.
This was nothing less than a betrayal.

Mass In Honor Of The 50th Anniversary Of Our Lady Of The Angels Monastery

I watched this Mass live on Saturday morning, and I'm so glad to be able to share it!

Vespers at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery

Today is the Golden Jubilee of the founding of Our Lady Of The Angels Monastery in Hanceville, Alabama. As part of the celebration, Vespers was chanted during the televised Benediction. 
I've mentioned in the past that I pray The Liturgy of the Hours at home.  It was an awesome experience to chant Vespers with  Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration and The Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word for Vespers. Yes, I know that I was not physically with them, but then again, neither were the millions of others who also joined them through EWTN.
I like to think that there was a chain of prayer encircling the world this evening.   And part of me, a rather large part of me,  wishes that I could have heard all those voices joined together in prayer.  
I'll bet it gave Satan one heck of an earache!
