All-Of-A-Kind Family Family Connection?

This post is adapted from a post in one of my old blogs.

I recently re-read Sydney Taylor's "All-Of-A-Kind Family" series.
Last year, I came across this website.
The second picture shows the family so familiar to the readers of the series, but it is the picture on top that means even more to me. You see, my Baba came from the same place as the grandparents in that picture, and she was born in 1902. Could at least some members of their family and mine have known each other?

Today, the monks who make Mystic Monk coffee must be celebrating big time! After all, they are Carmelites, and this is the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
So which of their coffees did I have this morning? This one, of course!

Fibber McGee and Molly

I've just added an episode of "Fibber McGee and Molly" from 1939 to my Vintage Media collection.
I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed that it didn't include the running gag about Fibber's closet, but after doing some online research, I discovered that the closet gag wasn't introduced until 1940.
Hobbies can be educational, as well as fun!

Independence Day

Yes, this is Independence Day, but perhaps, in another sense, it
is also Dependence day. We, in the United States of America, have the blessings of freedom; that is our independence. But may we never forget that we are also dependent. We depend on God for everything.
