Reviving and Revising an Old Collection

Some of you may remember my old Vintage Media Collection, which has been retired for quite some time now.  Well, today I decided to revive, and also to revise, that collection. Or perhaps I should say that I've started a new collection, which includes some items from the old one.
I'm now collecting old print advertisements, nothing more recent than 1949. 
I'm not making another blog this time. I'm storing these ads in a folder on my computer. 
From time to time, however, I will share a new acquisition.

Rehousing My Break-Off Collection

I was tired of keeping my collection in a dresser drawer, so I decided to do something about it.  I transferred my Break-Offs to a shoe box, and then I put the box on one of my bookshelves.  The shoe box has a good, tight lid, so Winky can't get at the collection. 
I'd planned, at one time, to put my Break-Offs into one or more of those rectangular plastic  containers with clear covers that Chinese food comes in. That didn't work, however, because no matter how much I washed them, they were still too greasy.
I'm thinking of buying some clear plastic food containers, and then arranging the items in my collection by size and/or by what they are made of. But I refuse to spend more than $5.00 at the very most.  After all, I don't spend any money on the items in this collection.

Incidentally, I hope to have a Tootsie Roll magnet someday!

Awhile ago, I blogged about myself as a collector.
Well, I've revived, in a different form, one of the collections
mentioned in that post.
And, since I'm planning to include commercials, some items may, and probably will,
appear in both this new collection, and my Vintage Media collection.

Why Some Items DON'T Get Added to My Collections

I really enjoy looking for new items to add to my Rosary Art
and Vintage Media collections. Of course, not everything I find gets collected!
For example, a picture that is too small will not make it into my Rosary Art Collection,
nor will a film or recording of poor quality make it into my Vintage Media Collection.
Today I came across a silent film version of Alice in Wonderland from 1903.
I would have liked... no, I would have LOVED to place this short movie in my Vintage
Media Collection, but the film, even though restored, was barely watchable.
Every collector, I'm sure, faces similar disappointments every now and then.

Expanding My Collection, Again

Once again, I've expanded my Rosary Art Collection.
It will now include pictures of stained glass windows. So far, I've added
two.
I have always loved stained glass windows; it's about time I included some in
my collection!

Fibber McGee and Molly

I've just added an episode of "Fibber McGee and Molly" from 1939 to my Vintage Media collection.
I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed that it didn't include the running gag about Fibber's closet, but after doing some online research, I discovered that the closet gag wasn't introduced until 1940.
Hobbies can be educational, as well as fun!
