Books Read in the Past Week

Books read for the first time are marked with a #

Books, (except Sunday books) are grouped by author, and not necessarily in the order read.

"Love God And Do What You Please"

by St. Alphonsus Liguori

adapted by M. J. Huber

[spiritual reading]
a favorite of mine; thank God it wasn't one of the books
lost when I moved!

"Least of All, Me"

by Sr. Anthony Marie, OSF

[Catholic fiction, based on fact]

{Sunday books}

Bible books(s) read this week:

"Galatians"
"Isaiah"

(This post explains my Bible-reading plan.)

{Also,  inspired by something I read in

"The Way of a Pilgrim," I now
read one full Gospel every day, dividing each Gospel into several portions}
I found that this doesn't work for me;
so now I'm going to read one Gospel
a week.

"Red Rose and Tiger Lily or
In a Wider World" #
(sequel to "A World of Girls")
by L. T. Meade
[children's fiction]
(free Amazon Kindle book)
I'd been meaning to read this for several months.
{carried over from last week}

"The Great American Broadcast: A Celebration of Radio's Golden Age"
by Leonard Maltin
{carried over from last week}

"A Candle of My Own" #
Thoughts on Shabbos Candles
by Girls Who Light Them
[Judaica, non-fiction]
(I glanced into this book in the library
years ago, but I've never read it in its
entirety until now.)

"Fifth Chinese Daughter"
by Jade Snow Wong
[autobiography]

"Emily of Deep Valley"
by Maud Hart Lovelace
[YA fiction]
{carrying over into next week}

Long-term  reading:
"Ascent of Mount Carmel"
by St. John of the Cross
translated by E. Allison Peers
[Catholic spirituality]
"Babylonian Talmud"
by The Jewish Publication Society of America
[Judaica}

Sudanese woman Meriam Ibrahim 'safe and well' in US embassy

This is the latest news about Meriam Ibrahim.  I'm VERY thankful, but I think we should keep praying until she on

American soil.

Browsing for Magnets

Sometimes I like to just browse for magnets without searching for anything specific.  I've found quite a few really nice magnets for my collection in this way.  Well, today was

no exception... I found a very cute magnet, and, since it

was the last one the seller had, I ordered it immediately.

Meriam Ibrahim Reportedly Freed Again After Re-Arrest on “Forgery” Charges

Meriam Ibrahim Reportedly Freed Again After Re-Arrest on “Forgery” Charges
We need to keep praying for Meriam Ibrahim until she is safely out of Sudan, and also pray for her sadly misguided brother.

Meriam Ibrahim Charged With Fraud, Prohibited From Leaving Country

If I were going through what Meriam Ibrahim is going through,
would I have her faith, her courage?
